Boris has released his new album called „Zapisan u tebi“ (Written Within You) after three years. „I worked on these songs for 18 months. I wrote 40, so my team and I chose 12, which we thought were the best.“, said Boris and added that he had never been that self-critical before, and that he had never done an album with so much responsibility and passion. One of the reasons is the death of his father, Đorđe Novković, who was his greatest critic and advisor. „I want my late father to be pleased and proud of my new album, so I spent a lot of time preparing it and I took care of every detail“, Boris said. „Everything has been written within us for ages and the spiritual power of the world is present in each of us, and we have to turn it into a harmonious whole. Though we may not be aware of that, when it comes to love, everyone has a person that has always been written within him. That was the leading idea when I had to choose the title of the album. Boris has written the lyrics and music of almost all the songs from the album. The lyrics of two songs were written by Franjo Valentić who has been working with Boris for years.
Nikša Bratoš is one of the most important people in Boris's team. He is one of the greatest Croatian producers who participated as a supervisor of the co-arranger, the co-producer and the artist. „I played some solos on the guitar, bass, Hammond organ and synthesizer. It sounded more serious than usual, Nikša liked it and decided to keep the material. I'm especially proud of „Gdje si ti“ (Where are you), the song that describes love, complexity and subtlety of the relationship between me and Đorđe. I managed to reduce it to few lines that tell a lot.“ said Boris. The first single which will be presented on the CMC festival is „Otkada je otišla“ (Since she's gone) and it is played on all the radio stations in Croatia. The basic feature of this album is that, though I made it during an especially difficult period after the death of my father, it is full of optimism and the positive energy. It is actually a very bright and happy album.“ concluded Boris.
